Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Akbar, there was a man called as Mahesh Das. He was a normal man, neither rich nor poor. However he was a very intelligent young man.
One day Akbar went hunting into the jungle. While chasing a deer, he went deep into the forest and lost his way. Mahesh Das used to collect wood in the forest and heard the King calling for help. He was familiar with the forest.
TranslateEs war einmal im Königreich von Akbar ein Mann namens Mahesh Das. Er war ein normaler Mann, weder reich noch arm. Er war jedoch ein sehr intelligenter junger Mann.
Eines Tages ging Akbar auf die Jagd in den Dschungel. Während er einem Hirsch nachjagte, ging er tief in den Wald und verirrte sich. Mahesh Das sammelte Holz im Wald und hörte den König um Hilfe rufen. Er war mit dem Wald vertraut.
He searched and found the king. He helped the King reach the palace. The Emperor was so happy that he rewarded Mahesh Das with his ring.
The Emperor also said that he would give him a posting at his court. After a few days Mahesh Das was asked to come to court.
TranslateEr suchte und fand den König. Er half dem König, den Palast zu erreichen. Der Kaiser war so glücklich, dass er Mahesh Das mit seinem Ring belohnte.
Der Kaiser sagte auch, dass er ihm einen Posten an seinem Gericht geben würde. Nach ein paar Tagen wurde Mahesh Das gebeten, vor Gericht zu kommen.
However he was stopped by the palace guard. Mahesh Das showed the guard the ring which the king had given to him. The guard was very greedy and thought that Mahesh Das was sure to get more rewards by the king.
The guard agreed to allow him inside the court but only on one condition. The condition was that Mahesh Das had to give him half the reward that he would get from the Emperor. Mahesh Das was a very intelligent man and accepted the condition.
TranslateEr wurde jedoch von der Palastwache aufgehalten. Mahesh Das zeigte der Wache den Ring, den der König ihm gegeben hatte. Die Wache war sehr gierig und dachte, dass Mahesh Das sicher mehr Belohnungen vom König bekommen würde.
Der Wachmann stimmte zu, ihn in das Gericht zu lassen, jedoch nur unter einer Bedingung. Die Bedingung war, dass Mahesh Das ihm die Hälfte der Belohnung geben musste, die er vom Kaiser erhalten würde. Mahesh Das war ein sehr intelligenter Mann und akzeptierte die Bedingung.
Mahesh Das entered the court and bowed to the King who immediately recognized him.
King Akbar asked him, “You have done a great deed and have made me very happy. What do you expect as a reward from me? Ask and it shall be granted.”
TranslateMahesh Das betrat den Gericht und verbeugte sich vor dem König, der ihn sofort erkannte.
König Akbar fragte ihn: „Sie haben eine großartige Tat getan und mich sehr glücklich gemacht. Was erwarten Sie als Belohnung von mir? Fragen Sie und es wird gewährt.”
Mahesh Das said, “My King, as my reward, I want 50 lashes from you with your best whip.”
The courtiers and the King were all stunned. They thought that Mahesh Das was mad.
TranslateMahesh Das sagte: „Mein König, als Belohnung möchte ich 50 Peitschenhiebe von dir mit deiner besten Peitsche.”
Die Höflinge und der König waren alle fassungslos. Sie dachten, dass Mahesh Das verrückt war.
Akbar asked Mahesh, “What is the reason behind your request?”
Mahesh Das said, “My King, for my reason to be explained properly, I wish to call the guard who was at the gate.”
TranslateAkbar fragte Mahesh: „Was ist der Grund für Ihre Anfrage?”
Mahesh Das sagte: „Mein König, um meinen Grund richtig zu erklären, möchte ich die Wache anrufen, die am Tor war.”
King Akbar said, “Bring the guard to me immediately.”
The guard was brought before the King. The guard was very happy and thought that he was going to be rewarded.
TranslateKönig Akbar sagte: “Bringen Sie die Wache sofort zu mir.”
Die Wache wurde vor den König gebracht. Der Wachmann war sehr glücklich und dachte, dass er belohnt werden würde.
Mahesh Das said, “My dear King, this kind guard let me inside on one condition that I should pay him half the reward I receive from you. I want you to teach him a lesson. Please give 25 lashes to this guard so that I can keep my promise to him. After that, please give me 25 lashes as well, as I have to fulfil my promise to him.”
TranslateMahesh Das sagte: „Mein lieber König, diese freundliche Wache ließ mich unter der Bedingung hinein, dass ich ihm die Hälfte der Belohnung zahlen sollte, die ich von Ihnen erhalte. Ich möchte, dass Sie ihm eine Lektion erteilen. Bitte geben Sie dieser Wache 25 Peitschenhiebe, damit ich kann mein Versprechen an ihn halten. Danach geben Sie mir bitte auch 25 Peitschenhiebe, da ich mein Versprechen an ihn erfüllen muss.”
The King then ordered that the guard be given 25 lashes to both of them. The guard was also punished with 5 years of imprisonment. The King was very happy with Mahesh Das.
King Akbar said, “You shall be called as Raja Birbal from now. You will be one of my ministers from today.”
TranslateDer König befahl daraufhin, dass die Wache beiden 25 Peitschenhiebe geben sollte. Die Wache wurde ebenfalls mit 5 Jahren Haft bestraft. Der König war sehr glücklich mit Mahesh Das.
König Akbar sagte: „Sie werden von nun an als Raja Birbal bezeichnet. Sie werden ab heute einer meiner Minister sein.“
