One day, Tenali Raman was walking down a road. A merchant was running and stopped in front of him. The merchant looked very sad.
The merchant said, “Good Evening, Sir. I am searching for my camel. He ran away and I am unable to find him. Did you see him?”
TranslateEines Tages ging Tenali Raman eine Straße entlang. Ein Kaufmann rannte und blieb vor ihm stehen. Der Kaufmann sah sehr traurig aus.
Der Kaufmann sagte: „Guten Abend, Herr. Ich suche mein Kamel. Er ist weggelaufen und ich kann ihn nicht finden. Haben Sie ihn gesehen?”
Tenali Raman said, “Did the camel have an injury in one leg?”
The merchant said, “Yes. That is my camel, Rani. Her leg was injured a few years ago and she limps. You have seen my camel. Where did it go?”
Tenali Raman said, “I have seen only its footprints. If you see, the camel has left only three foot prints. The fourth is missing so I knew it was limping.”
TranslateTenali Raman sagte: „Hatte das Kamel eine Verletzung an einem Bein?”
Der Händler sagte: „Ja. Das ist mein Kamel, Rani. Ihr Bein wurde vor einigen Jahren verletzt und sie humpelt. Sie haben mein Kamel gesehen. Wo ist es hin?”
Tenali Raman sagte: „Ich habe nur seine Fußabdrücke gesehen. Wenn Sie sehen, hat das Kamel nur drei Fußspuren hinterlassen. Der vierte fehlt, also wusste ich, dass er humpelt.“
Tenali Raman continued, “Was it blind in the left eye?”
The merchant said, “Yes! Yes! That is my camel.”
Tenali Raman said, “Was it loaded with sugar on one side and rice on the other side?”
TranslateTenali Raman fuhr fort: „War es auf dem linken Auge blind?”
Der Händler sagte: „Ja! Ja! Das ist mein Kamel.”
Tenali Raman sagte: „War es auf der einen Seite mit Zucker und auf der anderen Seite mit Reis beladen?”
The Merchant became very happy and said, “Yes, all your statements are correct. Did you see my camel?”
Tenali Raman said, “I did not see any camel. Only the right side of the bush is eaten. Similarly, there is a trail of sugar pieces on one side of the footprints and a trail of rice on the other side of the footprints. I think both bags must have small holes on them.”
TranslateDer Händler wurde sehr glücklich und sagte: „Ja, alle Ihre Aussagen sind korrekt. Haben Sie mein Kamel gesehen?”
Tenali Raman sagte: „Ich habe kein Kamel gesehen. Nur die rechte Seite des Busches wird gegessen. Ebenso gibt es eine Spur von Zuckerstücken auf einer Seite der Fußabdrücke und eine Spur von Reis auf der anderen Seite der Fußabdrücke. Ich denke, beide Taschen müssen kleine Löcher haben.“
The Merchant became very annoyed and said, “Then how do I find my camel? I already know all that you have said.”
Tenali Raman smiled and said, “Just follow the footprints. You will find your camel soon.”
The merchant took his advice and followed the trail. Soon, he found his camel slowly limping along the road.
TranslateDer Kaufmann ärgerte sich sehr und sagte: „Wie finde ich dann mein Kamel? Ich weiß schon alles, was sie gesagt haben.“
Tenali Raman lächelte und sagte: „Folgen Sie einfach den Fußspuren. Sie werden Ihr Kamel bald finden.“
Der Kaufmann nahm seinen Rat an und folgte der Spur. Bald humpelte sein Kamel langsam die Straße entlang.
