Once upon a time, a great blacksmith visited Akbar’s kingdom. He was an expert in making shields and spears.
King Akbar asked, “Blacksmith, I have heard that you are the greatest blacksmith in all the kingdoms. I wish to know more.”
TranslateEs war einmal ein großer Schmied, der Akbars Königreich besuchte. Er war ein Experte in der Herstellung von Schilden und Speeren.
König Akbar fragte: „Schmied, ich habe gehört, dass Sie der größte Schmied in allen Reichen sind. Ich möchte mehr wissen.“
The Blacksmith said proudly, “My King. It is true. I am the greatest blacksmith in the world. All blacksmiths learn to make hundreds of weapons. I make only two, the spear and the shield. Both of these weapons, no one can make better than me.”
TranslateDer Schmied sagte stolz: „Mein König. Es ist wahr. Ich bin der größte Schmied der Welt. Alle Schmiede lernen, Hunderte von Waffen herzustellen. Ich mache nur zwei, den Speer und den Schild. Beide Waffen kann niemand besser machen als ich. “
The Blacksmith gave the shield to the King. It was heavy and made of a metal which was not heavy yet was very strong.
The Blacksmith said, “My King, this shield is made of a very rare and strong metal. No spear in the world can pierce it. It is the strongest shield in the world. It is a true fit only for the greatest king.”
TranslateDer Schmied gab dem König den Schild. Es war schwer und aus einem Metall gefertigt, das noch nicht schwer war, aber sehr stark.
Der Schmied sagte: „Mein König, dieser Schild besteht aus einem sehr seltenen und starken Metall. Kein Speer der Welt kann ihn durchbohren. Es ist der stärkste Schild der Welt. Es passt nur für den größten König.“
The Blacksmith gave the spear to the King. It was light and extremely sharp.
The Blacksmith said, “My King, this spear is the sharpest spear ever made. There is no shield in the world which can stop it. It is the best spear in the world. It is a true fit only for the greatest king.”
TranslateDer Schmied gab dem König den Speer. Es war leicht und extrem scharf.
Der Schmied sagte: „Mein König, dieser Speer ist der schärfste Speer, der jemals hergestellt wurde. Es gibt keinen Schild auf der Welt, der es aufhalten könnte. Es ist der beste Speer der Welt. Es passt nur für den größten König.“
Birbal laughed loudly and said, “You are lying on one or the other. I can say that for sure.”
The Blacksmith got really angry and said, “Minister, forgive me for saying this but you do not know much about weapons as I do. But I shall ask you, prove it to me.”
TranslateBirbal lachte laut und sagte: „Sie lügen auf dem einen oder anderen. Das kann ich mit Sicherheit sagen.“
Der Schmied wurde wirklich wütend und sagte: „Minister, verzeihen Sie mir, dass ich das gesagt habe, aber Sie wissen nicht so viel über Waffen wie ich. Aber ich werde Sie fragen, beweisen Sie es mir.“
Birbal smiled and said, “I will throw your spear at your shield. If your spear breaks the shield, then the shield is not unbreakable. If your spear breaks, then the spear has been stopped.”
TranslateBirbal lächelte und sagte: „Ich werde Ihren Speer auf deinen Schild werfen. Wenn Ihr Speer den Schild bricht, ist der Schild nicht unzerbrechlich. Wenn Ihr Speer bricht, wurde der Speer gestoppt.“
