Aesop’s Fables – Der Wolf, das Kind und die Ziege
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful village where all the goats lived. In one of the houses, Mama Goat lived with her family. Papa Goat was a farmer and used to work in the fields. He planted wheat and grains which is used to make bread.

Mama Goat was a teacher and taught the children how to read and write. One day Mama Goat wanted to go to the market to buy groceries for the house. Papa goat was already working in the fields.

Baby Goat was very young and used to go to school. The little Kid was very smart and was the topper of the school.
Mama Goat said, “Please take good care of the house, my child. I will be back from the market soon. Do not open the door for anyone. Lock it from the inside.”
Baby Goat said, “But Mama, then how will I know when you come back and knock on the door”.
TranslateDie kleine Ziege war sehr jung und ging zur Schule. Das kleine Kind war sehr klug und war der Topper der Schule.
Mama Ziege sagte: „Bitte kümmere dich gut um das Haus, mein Kind. Ich werde bald vom Markt zurück sein. Öffne die Tür für niemanden. Schließ es von innen ab. “
Die kleine Ziege sagte: “Aber Mama, wie soll ich dann wissen, wann du zurückkommst und an die Tür klopfst?”
Mama Goat said, “Let us use a password then. Open the door only if I say the password – Down with the wolf and all his race.”
The baby goat said, “Sure Mother. I will be careful.”
TranslateMama Ziege sagte: „Dann lass uns ein Passwort verwenden. Öffne die Tür nur, wenn ich das Passwort sage – Nieder mit dem Wolf und seiner ganzen Rasse. “
Die kleine Ziege sagte: “Sicher, Mutter. Ich werde vorsichtig sein.”
Unfortunately a wolf was walking past and saw Mama Goat leave. A wolf has very sharp ears and it heard the entire conversation. It also heard the password very well.
The wolf waited until Mama Goat left and came to the door and knocked on the door and said, “Hey Baby Goat, it is me. Please open the door.”
TranslateLeider lief ein Wolf vorbei und sah Mama Ziege weggehen. Ein Wolf hat sehr scharfe Ohren und hat das ganze Gespräch gehört. Er hat auch das Passwort sehr gut gehört.

The Baby Goat said, “Mama. Can you give me the password?”
The wolf said, “Down with the wolf and all his race.”
The Baby Goat thought that the password is correct but the voice was too rough. It did not sound like his mother. The Baby Goat was very smart. It said, “Show me your white hoof and I shall let you in.”

Der Wolf sagte: “Nieder mit dem Wolf und seiner ganzen Rasse.”
Das Ziegenbaby dachte, dass das Passwort richtig ist, aber die Stimme war zu rau. Sie klang nicht wie seine Mutter. Das Baby Ziege war sehr klug. Es sagte: “Zeig mir deinen weißen Huf und ich werde dich hereinlassen.”
Of course as you know, wolves have paws and do not have hooves. The wolf also is very black while the goats are white. The wolf could not show a white hoof to the baby Goat. The goat did not open the door and the wolf had to leave, hungry as before.
TranslateWie Sie wissen, haben Wölfe natürlich Pfoten und keine Hufe. Außerdem ist der Wolf sehr schwarz, während die Ziegen weiß sind. Der Wolf konnte der kleinen Ziege keinen weißen Huf zeigen. Die Ziege öffnete die Tür nicht und der Wolf musste hungrig wie zuvor gehen.
The Baby Goat slowly opened the door and saw the wolf going towards the forest.
The baby Goat thought, “One can never be too sure. Two checks are definitely better than one.”
TranslateDas Ziegenbaby öffnete langsam die Tür und sah den Wolf in Richtung Wald gehen.
Das Ziegenbaby dachte: „Man kann nie zu sicher sein. Zwei Kontrollen sind definitiv besser als einer. “
Moral: “Two sureties are better than one.”
TranslateMoral: “Zwei Bürgschaften sind besser als eine.”
