Der andere Gast

Once upon a time, a very rich man had invited Birbal to his home for dinner. Birbal arrived at the man’s house in the evening and was surprised to see that there were 8 other people. He did not know any of the eight people.

Es war einmal ein sehr reicher Mann, der Birbal zum Abendessen zu sich nach Hause eingeladen hatte. Birbal kam am Abend im Haus des Mannes an und war überrascht zu sehen, dass es noch 8 andere Leute gab. Er kannte keine der acht Personen.

 

Birbal said, “Oh. I did not know that you had invited so many guests.”

The man said, “They are not my guests but my employees. However I wish to pose you a riddle.”

Birbal was always interested in solving riddles and agreed. Birbal asked “What is the riddle?”

Translate

Birbal sagte: „Oh. Ich wusste nicht, dass Sie so viele Gäste eingeladen hatten. “

Der Mann sagte: „Sie sind nicht meine Gäste, sondern meine Angestellten. Ich möchte Ihnen jedoch ein Rätsel stellen.“

Birbal war immer daran interessiert, Rätsel zu lösen und stimmte zu. Birbal fragte: “Was ist das Rätsel?”

The man said, “One of these eight people is another guest who is not my employee. Can you guess who it is?”

Birbal said, “That is an interesting riddle. Can you please tell them a joke? I will find and tell you who the guest is.”

Der Mann sagte: „Eine dieser acht Personen ist ein weiterer Gast, der nicht mein Angestellter ist. Können Sie erraten, wer es ist? ”

Birbal sagte: „Das ist ein interessantes Rätsel. Können Sie ihnen bitte einen Witz erzählen? Ich werde finden und Ihnen sagen, wer der Gast ist. “

 

The man told a joke to the entire group. It was not a funny joke but all the guests in the house burst into laughter.

Birbal pointed towards a man in a yellow tunic and said, “That man over there is the other guest”

The host was amazed. He said. “Yes! That is correct! But how did you guess it?”

Der Mann erzählte der gesamten Gruppe einen Witz. Es war kein lustiger Witz, aber alle Gäste im Haus brachen in Gelächter aus.

Birbal zeigte auf einen Mann in einer gelben Tunika und sagte: „Dieser Mann da drüben ist der andere Gast.”

Der Gastgeber war erstaunt. Er sagte. „Ja! Das ist richtig! Aber wie haben Sie es erraten? ”

 

Birbal said, “The joke which you just said was not so funny. Still, everyone laughed and reacted as if it was such an excellent joke. This is because they are your employees. But the guest only smiled since he is not obligated to you. That is how I could identify him.”

Birbal sagte: „Der Witz, den Sie gerade gesagt haben, war nicht so lustig. Trotzdem lachten alle und reagierten, als wäre es ein so ausgezeichneter Witz. Dies liegt daran, dass sie Ihre Mitarbeiter sind. Aber der Gast lächelte nur, da er Ihnen gegenüber nicht verpflichtet ist. So konnte ich ihn identifizieren.“
