Aesop’s Fables – Der Hund und die Häute
There were a few dogs which lived in the village. In the village, there lived a tanner. The tanner used to make leather hides. The tanner had to take the leather and put them in the bottom a stream to soak. The dogs loved to eat leather. Leather was very tasty.
TranslateEs gab ein paar Hunde, die im Dorf lebten. Im Dorf lebte ein Gerber. Der Gerber machte Lederhäute. Der Gerber musste das Leder nehmen und in den Boden eines Baches legen, um es einzuweichen. Die Hunde aßen gern Leder. Leder war sehr lecker.
The first dog said, “WOOF! WOOF! How do we steal the leather?”
The second dog said, “ARF! ARF! We can jump inside and pull it out.”
The third dog said, “WHOW! WHOW! We cannot do that. The hide is very heavy.”
TranslateDer erste Hund sagte: „WOOF! WOOF! Wie stehlen wir das Leder? “
Der zweite Hund sagte: „ARF! ARF! Wir können hinein springen und es herausziehen. “
Der dritte Hund sagte: „WHOW! WHOW! Das können wir nicht machen. Die Haut ist sehr schwer. “
The first dog said, “WOOF! WOOF! Then how do we steal the leather?”
The second dog said, “ARF! ARF! Let us drink all the water in the stream. Once the water is finished, we can eat the hide.”
The third dog said, “WHOW! WHOW! That is such a clever plan. You are very smart.”
TranslateDer erste Hund sagte: „WOOF! WOOF! Wie stehlen wir dann das Leder? “
Der zweite Hund sagte: „ARF! ARF! Lassen wir uns das ganze Wasser im Bach trinken. Sobald das Wasser fertig ist, können wir die Haut fressen. “
Der dritte Hund sagte: „WHOW! WHOW! Das ist so ein kluger Plan. Du bist sehr klug.”
The three dogs started to drink the water. The dogs drank and drank and drank and drank.
The first dog said, “WOOF! WOOF! Can we reach the hides?”
The second dog said, “ARF! ARF! We have to drink some more.”
The third dog said, “WHOW! WHOW! Yes. Yes. We have to drink some more.”
TranslateDie drei Hunde begannen das Wasser zu trinken. Die Hunde tranken und tranken und tranken und tranken.
Der erste Hund sagte: „WOOF! WOOf! Können wir die Häute erreichen? “
Der zweite Hund sagte: „ARF! ARF! Wir müssen noch etwas trinken. “

And so they drank and drank and drank and drank until they burst. The water in the river did not reduce at all.
