Der Zauberstab

Once upon a time, a rich merchant was robbed in the Akbar’s kingdom. The merchant was very upset and wanted justice. He went to court and asked King Akbar for help.

King Akbar said, “Dear Birbal, please help this man. Recover the money and jewellery for him.”

Es war einmal ein reicher Kaufmann, der im Königreich der Akbar ausgeraubt wurde. Der Kaufmann war sehr verärgert und wollte Gerechtigkeit. Er ging vor Gericht und bat König Akbar um Hilfe.

König Akbar sagte: „Lieber Birbal, bitte helfen Sie diesem Mann. Holen Sie das Geld und den Schmuck für ihn zurück.“

 

Birbal said, “Yes, my lord. Dear merchant. Is there anyone you suspect?”

The Merchant said, “Oh dear Birbal, I believe that one of my servants must have done it since only they can enter my house. No one else can enter my house.”

Translate

Birbal sagte: „Ja, mein Herr. Lieber Kaufmann. Gibt es jemanden, den Sie vermuten?”

Der Kaufmann sagte: „Oh, lieber Birbal, ich glaube, einer meiner Diener muss es getan haben, da nur sie mein Haus betreten können. Niemand sonst kann mein Haus betreten. “

 

The Magical Stick - Akbar and Birbal Magical Sticks Story in English

 

Birbal went to the merchant’s house and asked the merchant to call all his servants. The servants stood in a straight line.

Birbal said, “Among one of you is a robber. I shall give you each a magic stick. This stick belonging to all the innocent servants was not grow in length. The stick belonging to the guilty servant shall become longer by 2 inches.”

Birbal ging zum Haus des Kaufmanns und bat den Kaufmann, alle seine Diener anzurufen. Die Diener standen in einer geraden Linie.

Birbal sagte: „Unter einem von euch ist ein Räuber. Ich werde jedem einen Zauberstab geben. Dieser Stab, der allen unschuldigen Dienern gehörte, wurde nicht länger. Der Stock des schuldigen Dieners soll um 2 Zoll länger werden.“

 

 

The next day, Birbal called all the servants into the room and asked them to give their sticks. One stick was 2 inches smaller and the other sticks were of the same size.

Birbal called the servant with the shorter stick and said, “This man is the thief.”

Am nächsten Tag rief Birbal alle Diener ins Zimmer und bat sie, ihre Stäbe zu geben. Ein Stock war 2 Zoll kleiner und die anderen Stöcke waren von der gleichen Größe.

Birbal rief den Diener mit dem kürzeren Stock an und sagte: “Dieser Mann ist der Dieb.”

 

 

The merchant asked, “But how did you find out that he is the thief?”

Birbal said, “It is very simple. It is only an ordinary stick. The thief believed that the stick was a magic growing stick. So he broke off 2 inches so that it would remain the same size.”

Der Kaufmann fragte: „Aber wie haben Sie herausgefunden, dass er der Dieb ist?”

Birbal sagte: „Es ist sehr einfach. Es ist nur ein gewöhnlicher Stab. Der Dieb glaubte, dass der Stab ein magisch wachsender Stab war. Also hat er 2 Zoll abgebrochen, damit es gleich groß bleibt.“

 

 

Moral: Truth always prevails.
