Aesop’s Fables – Der Astrologe

Once upon a time, there was a man who lived in a tiny village.

The man used to say, “I am an astrologer. I can read anyone’s fortune in the stars.”

He used to stare at the night sky and always thought, “This is what this means…. Ah.. So that is what this means…”

One day, he was walking to the forest when he saw the stars above.

He thought, “Ah the stars look very different today. It must mean only one thing. The world is going to end. I must warn everyone.”

He stared at the sky and kept walking. He was so engrossed that he did not see a large well in front of him. He fell into the well.

The man could not swim and started to scream. The villagers came and saved him.

One man said, “You pretend to read the stars. However, you did not see what was right in front of you. You should pay attention to what is in front of you. The future will take care of itself.”
