Aesop’s Fables – L’orso e le api

 

Mr. Bear was roaming around the forest searching for something nice to eat.

He thought, “I like berries. Berries are tasty. But I like honey more. Honey is my favorite food.”

Translate

L’orso vagava per la foresta alla ricerca di qualcosa di buono da mangiare.

Pensò: “Mi piacciono le bacche. Le bacche sono gustose. Ma mi piace di più il miele. Il miele è il mio cibo preferito”.

 

He found a tree in the forest which was very low. The tree had a big honeycomb. The honeycomb seemed to be empty.

Mr. Bear thought, “Today is my lucky day. I am going to eat a lot of honey.”

Translate

Trovò un albero nella foresta che era molto basso. L’albero aveva un grande nido d’ape. Il favo sembrava essere vuoto.

L’orso pensò: “Oggi è il mio giorno fortunato. Mangerò molto miele”.

 

It was dark and the bear could not see very well. The bear went near the tree and saw only one honeybee in the beehive.

He thought, “If there is only one honeybee, I can steal the honey easily.”

Translate

Era buio e l’orso non riusciva a vedere molto bene. L’orso si avvicinò all’albero e vide solo un’ape nell’alveare.

Pensò: “Se c’è solo un’ape, posso rubare il miele facilmente”.

 

He went near the hive and tried to touch it and the bee gave him a sharp sting. Mr. Bear howled in anger. He slapped the tree in anger. The entire swarm of bees come out and started to attack the bear. The poor bear had to dive into the pond to save himself.

Si avvicinò all’alveare e cercò di toccarlo e l’ape gli diede una puntura acuta. L’orso ululò di rabbia. Ha schiaffeggiato l’albero con rabbia. L’intero sciame di api uscì e iniziò ad attaccare l’orso. Il povero orso dovette tuffarsi nello stagno per salvarsi.

 

Moral: “It is wiser to bear a single injury in silence than to provoke a thousand by flying into a rage.”

Translate

Morale: “È più saggio sopportare in silenzio una sola offesa che provocarne mille infuriandosi”.
