Aesop’s Fables – La volpe e la capra
Mr. Fox was walking down the forest when he accidentally fell into a well. The well was not deep but he could not jump out. He tried again and again but could not escape.
After a long time, he heard a sound.
“CLIP CLOP CLIP CLOP CLIP COP”.
TranslateLa signora volpe stava camminando nella foresta quando cadde accidentalmente in un pozzo. Il pozzo non era profondo ma non poteva saltare fuori. Provò ancora e ancora, ma non riuscì a scappare.
Dopo molto tempo, udì un suono.
It was a very thirsty goat.
The Goat asked the Fox, “Hello Mr Fox. How is the water down in the well?”
TranslateEra una capra molto assetata.
La Capra chiese alla Volpe: “Ciao volpe. Com’è l’acqua giù nel pozzo?»
The Fox was very cunning. It replied, “Excellent. This water is the tastiest and sweetest water in the forest. Jump in and have a drink.”
TranslateLa Volpe era molto astuta. Ha risposto: “Eccellente. Quest’acqua è l’acqua più gustosa e dolce della foresta. Entra e bevi qualcosa. “
Saying so, he drank some water. The Goat immediately jumped in and started to drink the water. The fox jumped on top of the Goat and then in one single jump, he was outside the well.
TranslateCosì dicendo, bevve dell’acqua. La Capra subito saltò dentro e iniziò a bere l’acqua. La volpe saltò sopra la Capra e poi con un solo salto fu fuori dal pozzo.
The goat realized that he could not get out. He begged the fox to help him escape. The fox was already on its way to the woods.
TranslateLa capra si rese conto che non poteva uscire. Pregò la volpe di aiutarlo a fuggire. La volpe era già in viaggio verso il bosco.
“If you had some sense in you, you should have been careful. You should have thought of how you would be getting out again before you jumped in.”
Translate“Se avessi avuto un po’ di buon senso in te, avresti dovuto stare attento. Avresti dovuto pensare a come saresti uscito di nuovo prima di buttarti dentro”.
Moral: “Look before you leap.”
TranslateMorale: “Guarda prima di saltare”.
