Akbar and Birbal – La pentola

 

Once upon a time, King Akbar had an argument with his minister Birbal. King Akbar was so angry that he ordered Birbal to leave the kingdom and go away.

C’era una volta, il re Akbar aveva una discussione con il suo ministro Birbal. Il re Akbar era così arrabbiato che ordinò a Birbal di lasciare il regno e andarsene.

 

King Akbar said, “Birbal. You have made me very angry. Leave my kingdom and go away immediately. If I find you in my kingdom tomorrow morning, you will be jailed.”

Re Akbar disse: “Birbal. Mi hai fatto molto arrabbiare. Lascia il mio regno e vattene subito. Se domani mattina ti trovo nel mio regno, sarai incarcerato “.

 

Birbal was a very obedient minister. He apologised to the king and left the kingdom immediately. He went to a small village and changed his name. He started working in a small farm where he grew watermelons.

Birbal era un ministro molto obbediente. Si è scusato con il re e ha lasciato immediatamente il regno. Andò in un piccolo villaggio e cambiò il suo nome. Ha iniziato a lavorare in una piccola fattoria dove coltivava angurie.

 

A few weeks passed and Akbar missed Birbal. Birbal was not only his minister but also one of his closest friends. Birbal was the only one who understood what Akbar wanted. He was fearless and always did what was right for the kingdom, sometimes even opposing the views of King Akbar.

Passarono alcune settimane e ad Akbar mancava Birbal. Birbal non era solo il suo ministro, ma anche uno dei suoi più cari amici. Birbal era l’unico che capiva cosa voleva Akbar. Era senza paura e faceva sempre ciò che era giusto per il regno, a volte anche opponendosi alle opinioni del re Akbar.

 

Akbar thought, “When Birbal was in his court, Birbal would never fail in providing a solution to any problem. I could always trust his judgement.”

Akbar pensò: “Quando Birbal era alla sua corte, Birbal non avrebbe mai mancato di fornire una soluzione a qualsiasi problema. Potrei sempre fidarmi del suo giudizio. “

 

Akbar sent his soldiers to find Birbal but they unsuccessfully returned. Birbal was hiding well just as the king had ordered. No one knew where Birbal was.

Akbar ha inviato i suoi soldati a trovare Birbal, ma sono tornati senza successo. Birbal si stava nascondendo bene proprio come aveva ordinato il re. Nessuno sapeva dove fosse Birbal.

 

Akbar made an announcement, “There is only one way in which I can bring him back. I will issue an order. Any man who brings to me, a pot full of “intelligence” shall become my advisor and minister. All his crimes shall be pardoned.”

Akbar ha fatto un annuncio: “C’è solo un modo in cui posso riportarlo indietro. Emetterò un ordine. Ogni uomo che mi porta una pentola piena di “intelligenza” diventerà il mio consigliere e ministro. Tutti i suoi crimini saranno perdonati. “

 

This message reached all the villages and even Birbal heard it. He knew that Akbar had forgiven him and wanted to bring him back. Birbal thought of a cunning plan.

Questo messaggio ha raggiunto tutti i villaggi e anche Birbal lo ha sentito. Sapeva che Akbar lo aveva perdonato e voleva riportarlo indietro. Birbal pensò a un piano astuto.

 

He went to his farm and found a small watermelon which was still growing. He put it inside the steel pot and watered the plan well for an entire month. The watermelon grew large and stopped growing only when it completely fit the walls of the pot.

Andò alla sua fattoria e trovò una piccola anguria che stava ancora crescendo. Lo mise nella pentola d’acciaio e innaffiò bene il piano per un mese intero. L’anguria diventò grande e smise di crescere solo quando si adattò completamente alle pareti della pentola.

 

Birbal then sent the pot to Akbar saying, “Dear King, this is your pot. Please remove the “intelligence” fully without breaking the pot.”

Birbal ha poi inviato il piatto ad Akbar dicendo: “Caro re, questo è il tuo piatto. Si prega di rimuovere completamente “l’intelligenza” senza rompere il piatto. “

 

Akbar realized that only one man could think of such a funny and intelligent answer. Akbar himself went to the village and brought back Birbal.

Akbar si rese conto che solo un uomo poteva pensare a una risposta così divertente e intelligente. Lo stesso Akbar andò al villaggio e riportò Birbal.
