Aesop’s Fables – Les abeilles, les guêpes et le frelon
Once upon a time, a bee and a wasp were searching for food for their colonies. They both found a large honeycomb hidden in the tree trunk.

The bee and the wasp were both very angry and fought for days. Soon they almost declared war upon each other. They decided it would be best if they appointed a judge who would decide.

They decided that the case should be decided by hornet, the judge who helped maintained peace in their forest. The hornet was a fair judge and wanted to hear both sides of the story.

The wasp brought forward witnesses who were all wasps. The witnesses swore that the wasps built the nest and the bees were liars.

The Judge heard the case for six weeks and then said wisely, “I have heard both sides of the case and I thank you for your patience. I have a simple test for both groups.”

The wasps and the bees listened very attentively. A simple test? If they passed the test, then the hive would belong to the winner.

The Judge said, “Both the bees and the wasps should build a hive similar to this one. Whichever hive is most similar, they can take the honey home.”
