Once upon a time, there was a great forest where all the animals lived together in harmony. The lion announced that there would be a beauty contest in the forest.

The cat brought her kitten which licked its paws and mewed cutely on the stage. Everyone were delighted to see the kitten.

The dog brought his puppy which flapped its ears and chased its own tail on the stage. Everyone loved the puppy.

The bear brought his cub which rolled on the floor and fell asleep. Everyone clapped on seeing the cub sleeping on the stage.

The monkey brought her own baby monkey which quietly stood on the stage. The baby monkey was not as cute as the puppy or the kitten or the cub.

The cat said, “Look at the baby monkey. He has a ugly flat nose! Ha Ha. He is so ugly. He is not as cute as my kitten”

The bear said, “Look at the baby monkey. He has no hair! Ha Ha. He is so ugly. He is not as fluffy as my cub”

The monkey said, “You may say all the cruel jokes that you want. As far as I can see, all your babies are very ugly. My baby is the cutest, sweetest and dearest darling in the world”

Moral: “Mother’s love is blind.”

Morale: «L’amour de mère est aveugle.»
