Once upon a time, there was a great forest where all the animals lived together in harmony. The lion announced that there would be a beauty contest in the forest.

Il était une fois une grande forêt où tous les animaux vivaient ensemble en harmonie. Le lion a annoncé qu’il y aurait un concours de beauté dans la forêt.

 

The cat brought her kitten which licked its paws and mewed cutely on the stage. Everyone were delighted to see the kitten.

Translate

Le chat a amené son chaton qui s’est léché les pattes et a miaulé gentiment sur la scène. Tout le monde était ravi de voir le chaton.

 

The dog brought his puppy which flapped its ears and chased its own tail on the stage. Everyone loved the puppy.

Translate

Le chien a amené son chiot qui a battu ses oreilles et a poursuivi sa propre queue sur la scène. Tout le monde a adoré le chiot.

 

The bear brought his cub which rolled on the floor and fell asleep. Everyone clapped on seeing the cub sleeping on the stage.

Translate

L’ours a amené son petit qui a roulé sur le sol et s’est endormi. Tout le monde applaudit en voyant le petit dormir sur la scène.

 

The monkey brought her own baby monkey which quietly stood on the stage. The baby monkey was not as cute as the puppy or the kitten or the cub.

Translate

Le singe a amené son propre bébé singe qui se tenait tranquillement sur la scène. Le bébé singe n’était pas aussi mignon que le chiot ou le chaton ou le petit.

 

The cat said, “Look at the baby monkey. He has a ugly flat nose! Ha Ha. He is so ugly. He is not as cute as my kitten”

Translate

Le chat a dit: «Regardez le bébé singe. Il a un nez plat et laid! Ha Ha. Il est tellement moche. Il n’est pas aussi mignon que mon chaton »

 

The bear said, “Look at the baby monkey. He has no hair! Ha Ha. He is so ugly. He is not as fluffy as my cub”

Translate

L’ours a dit: «Regardez le bébé singe. Il n’a pas de cheveux! Ha Ha. Il est tellement moche. Il n’est pas aussi pelucheux que mon petit »

 

The monkey said, “You may say all the cruel jokes that you want. As far as I can see, all your babies are very ugly. My baby is the cutest, sweetest and dearest darling in the world”

Translate

Le singe a dit: «Vous pouvez dire toutes les blagues cruelles que vous voulez. D’après ce que je peux voir, tous vos bébés sont très laids. Mon bébé est le plus mignon, le plus doux et le plus chèr du monde »

 

Moral: “Mother’s love is blind.”

Translate

Morale: «L’amour de mère est aveugle.»
