Aesop’s  Fables – O astrólogo

 

Once upon a time, there was a man who lived in a tiny village.

The man used to say, “I am an astrologer. I am a great astrologer. I can see the stars and understand what they are saying. I can read anyone’s fortune in the stars.”

Translate

Era uma vez um homem que morava numa pequena aldeia.

O homem costumava dizer: “Eu sou um astrólogo. Eu sou um grande astrólogo. Posso ver as estrelas e entender o que estão a dizer. Posso ler a sorte de qualquer pessoa nas estrelas. ”

 

He used to stare at the night sky and always thought, “This is what this means…. Aaah.. So that is what this means…”

One day, he was walking to the forest when he saw the stars above.

Translate

Ele costumava olhar para o céu noturno e sempre pensava: “Isso é o que isso significa… Aaah .. Então é isso que isso significa…”

Um dia, ele estava a caminhar para a floresta quando viu as estrelas acima.

 

He thought, “Ah the stars look very different today. It must mean only one thing. The world is going to end. I must warn everyone.”

Translate

Ele pensou: “Ah, as estrelas estão muito diferentes hoje. Deve significar apenas uma coisa. O mundo vai acabar. Devo avisar a todos. ”

 

He stared at the sky and kept walking. He was so engrossed that he did not see a large well in front of him. He fell into the well.

The man could not swim and started to scream. The villagers came and saved him.

Translate

Ele olhou para o céu e continuou a andar. Ele estava tão absorto que não viu um grande poço à sua frente. Ele caiu no poço.

O homem não sabia nadar e começou a gritar. Os aldeões vieram e o salvaram.

 

The villagers asked the Astrologer, “Sir, what happened? The well is so large and open. How did you fall into the well? Even children do not fall into the well.”

The Astrologer said, “I was reading the stars and seeing the future.”

Translate

Os aldeões perguntaram ao Astrólogo: “Senhor, o que aconteceu? O poço é tão grande e aberto. Como caiu no poço? Mesmo as crianças não caem no poço. ”

O Astrólogo disse: “Eu estava a ler as estrelas e vendo o futuro”.

 

The villager said, “You pretend to read the stars. However, you did not see what was right in front of you. You should pay attention to what is in front of you. The future will take care of itself.”

Translate

O morador disse: Finge ler as estrelas. No entanto, não viu o que estava bem na sua frente. Deve prestar atenção ao que está à sua frente. O futuro cuidará de si mesmo. ”

 

Moral: “Take care of the little things and the big things will take care of themselves.”

Translate

Moral: “Cuidem das pequenas coisas e as grandes cuidarão de si mesmas”.
