Aesop’s Fables – O pavão e o guindaste
Once upon a time, there was a peacock who was very vain. He used to show off to everyone. One day he met a crane.
TranslateEra uma vez um pavão que era muito vaidoso. Ele costumava se exibir para todos. Um dia ele conheceu um guindaste.
The peacock thought, “Look at this ugly crane. Let me show him how beautiful I am.”
The peacock spread its gorgeous tail fully in the sun.
TranslateO pavão pensou: “Olhe para este guindaste feio. Deixe-me mostrar a ele como é bonita. ”
O pavão abriu a sua linda cauda totalmente ao sol.
The peacock said to the crane, “Look how beautiful my tail is. You are grey in color while I am so colorful. I am the most beautiful bird in the world with all my colors. You must feel so bad next to me.”
The crane said, “You may be colorful, and I may be grey. But can you do this?”
TranslateO pavão disse para a garça: “Olha como a minha cauda é linda. É cinza enquanto eu sou tão colorido. Eu sou a ave mais linda do mundo com todas as minhas cores. Deve se sentir tão mal perto de mim. “
O guindaste disse: “Pode ser colorido e eu posso ser cinza. Mas pode fazer isso? ”
The crane spread its wings and flew up towards the skies. The peacock could only sadly watch. The peacock was just like another farm bird; stuck to the ground.
TranslateO guindaste abriu as suas asas e voou em direção aos céus. O pavão só pôde observar tristemente. O pavão era como outro pássaro da fazenda; preso ao chão.
Moral: “The useful is of much more importance and value, than the ornamental.”
TranslateMoral: “O útil tem muito mais importância e valor do que o ornamental.”
