Aesop’s  Fables – A mula

 

Once upon a time, there was a Mule who wanted to show off. The Mule woke up one day and was filled with energy. He ran around as fast as he could.

Translate

Era uma vez uma Mula que queria exibir-se. A Mula acordou um dia e estava cheio de energia. Ele correu o mais rápido que pôde.

 

He thought, “My father must have been a powerful racehorse. I feel like a racehorse. No horse must be faster than me.”

Translate

Ele pensou: “O meu pai deve ter sido um poderoso cavalo de corrida. Eu sinto-me como um cavalo de corrida. Nenhum cavalo deve ser mais rápido do que eu. ”

 

Next day he was put into a harness and that evening he tried to run. He was so slow that he was disheartened.

The Mule said, “I am so sad. My father was an Ass after all.”

Translate

No dia seguinte, ele foi colocado num arreio e naquela noite ele tentou correr. Ele era tão lento que ficou desanimado.

A mula disse: “Estou tão triste. Afinal, meu pai era um idiota. ”

 

Moral: “Be sure of your pedigree before you boast of it.”

Translate

Moral: “Certifique-se do seu pedigree antes de se gabar dele”.
