Aesop’s Fables – O Homem e o Leão
One upon a time, there was a traveler who was traveling through the forest. He saw a Lion and made good friends with him. They had lunch together and were boasting to each other.
TranslateEra uma vez um viajante que estava a viajar pela floresta. Ele viu um Leão e fez bons amigos com ele. Eles almoçaram juntos e estavam se gabando um do outro.
The Lion said, “I am the King of the forest. There is no animal stronger than I am.”
The Man said, “Ha! That is not true. Man is the strongest. He is stronger than any Lion. He is also the wisest.”
TranslateO Leão disse: “Eu sou o Rei da floresta. Não há animal mais forte do que eu. ”
O Homem disse: “Ha! Isso é falso. O homem é o mais forte. Ele é mais forte do que qualquer Leão. Ele também é o mais sábio. ”
The Lion said, “Ha! The wisest? The Lion is the wisest of all animals and hence he is the king.”
TranslateO Leão disse: “Ha! O mais esperto? O Leão é o mais sábio de todos os animais, portanto, ele é o rei. ”
They were quarreling when they saw the great statue of Heracles. Heracles was tearing a Lion with his bare hands.
TranslateEles estavam a discutir quando viram a grande estátua de Heracles. Heracles estava a rasgar um Leão com as próprias mãos.
The Man said, “Ha! Look at that statue. That is Heracles, a Man. He can kill a Lion so easily. Man is the strongest.”
TranslateO Homem disse: “Ha! Olhe para aquela estátua. Esse é Heracles, um homem. Ele pode matar um Leão tão facilmente. O homem é o mais forte. ”
The Lion said, “Ha! The statue is made by a man. If a Lion made the statue, the Lion would be eating Heracles.”
TranslateO Leão disse: “Ha! A estátua é feita por um homem. Se um Leão fizesse a estátua, o Leão estaria a comer Heracles. ”
Moral: “It all depends on the point of view, and who tells the story.”
TranslateMoral: “Tudo depende do ponto de vista e de quem conta a história”.
