Aesop’s  Fables – A raposa e o leão

 

Once upon a time, there was Lion who was old.  The Lion was slow and could not hunt anymore.  One day he was thinking and had a brilliant idea.  

Translate

Era uma vez um Leão que era velho. O Leão era lento e não podia mais caçar. Um dia ele estava a pensar e teve uma ideia brilhante.

 

HOP! HOP! HOP!

A foolish rabbit came hopping along. The rabbit hopped near the cave saw the old lion lying there. The Lion started to groan and moan.

Translate

Um coelho tolo veio a pular. O coelho pulou perto da caverna e viu o velho leão deitado ali. O Leão começou a gemer e gemer.

 

The Rabbit asked, “How are you, Mr. Lion? You do not seem very well”.

The Lion said, “I am so sick and have a fever. Please come and feel how hot my head is.” 

Translate

O Coelho perguntou: “Como vai, Sr. Leão? Não parece muito bem ”.

O Leão disse: “Estou muito doente e com febre. Por favor, venha e sinta como a minha cabeça está quente. ”

 

The foolish rabbit went into the cave. The lion jumped on him and gobbled him up and that was the end of the rabbit.

SNAP! SNAP! GOBBLE! GOBBLE!

Translate

O coelho tolo entrou na caverna. O leão saltou sobre ele e o engoliu e foi o fim do coelho.

 

TROT! TROT! TROT!

A foolish sheep came trotting along. The sheep trotted near the cave saw the old lion lying there. The Lion started to groan and moan.

Translate

Uma ovelha tola veio a trotar. As ovelhas trotaram perto da caverna e viram o velho leão deitado ali. O Leão começou a gemer e gemer.

 

The Sheep asked, “How are you, Mr. Lion? You do not seem very well”.

The Lion said, “I am so sick and have a fever. Please come and feel how hot my head is.” 

Translate

A Ovelha perguntou: “Como vai, Sr. Leão? Não parece muito bem ”.

O Leão disse: “Estou muito doente e com febre. Por favor, venha e sinta como a minha cabeça está quente. ”

A tola Ovelha entrou na caverna. O leão saltou sobre ele e o engoliu e isso foi o fim das ovelhas.

 

SNAP! SNAP! GOBBLE! GOBBLE!

Swish! Swish! Swish!

 

A wily Fox came along with its tail swishing. The fox went near the cave saw the old lion lying there. The Lion started to groan and moan.

Uma raposa astuta veio com o seu rabo balançando. A raposa se aproximou da caverna e viu o velho leão deitado ali. O Leão começou a gemer e gemer.

 

The Fox asked, “How are you, Mr. Lion? You do not seem very well”.

The Lion said, “I am so sick and have a fever. Please come and feel how hot my head is.” 

Translate

A Raposa perguntou: “Como vai, Sr. Leão? Não parece muito bem ”.

O Leão disse: “Estou muito doente e com febre. Por favor, venha e sinta como a minha cabeça está quente. ”

 

The wily Fox said, “Oh no! Mr. Lion, I see many footprints going into your cave, but no footprints coming out.  You are dangerous, Mr. Lion.  Good bye!” 

The fox ran away as fast as he could.

Translate

A astuta Raposa disse: “Oh, não! Sr. Leão, vejo muitas pegadas entrando em a sua caverna, mas nenhuma pegada saindo. É perigoso, Sr. Leão, Adeus!”

A raposa fugiu o mais rápido que pôde.

 

Moral: “Learn from the mistakes of others.”

Translate

Moral: “Aprenda com os erros dos outros.”
