Tenali Raman – Tenali Raman et le chameau
One day, Tenali Raman was walking down a road. A merchant was running and stopped in front of him. The merchant looked very sad.
TranslateUn jour, Tenali Raman marchait sur une route. Un marchand courait et s’arrêta devant lui. Le marchand avait l’air très triste.
The merchant said, “Good Evening, Sir. I am searching for my camel. He ran away and I am unable to find him. Did you see him?”
Tenali Raman said, “Did the camel have an injury in one leg?”
TranslateLe marchand a dit: «Bonsoir, monsieur. Je cherche mon chameau. Il s’est enfui et je suis incapable de le trouver. L’avez-vous vu?»
Tenali Raman a déclaré: «Le chameau a-t-il été blessé à une jambe?»
The merchant said, “Yes. That is my camel, Rani. Her leg was injured a few years ago and she limps. You have seen my camel. Where did it go?”
TranslateLe marchand a dit: «Oui. C’est mon chameau, Rani. Sa jambe a été blessée il y a quelques années et elle boitait. Vous avez vu mon chameau. Où est-il allé?»
Tenali Raman said, “I have seen only its footprints. If you see, the camel has left only three foot prints. The fourth is missing so I knew it was limping.”
TranslateTenali Raman a déclaré: «Je n’ai vu que ses empreintes. Si vous voyez, le chameau n’a laissé que trois empreintes de pas. Le quatrième est manquant, donc je savais qu’il boitait.»
Tenali Raman continued, “Was it blind in the left eye?”
The merchant said, “Yes! Yes! That is my camel.”
TranslateTenali Raman a poursuivi: «Était-ce aveugle de l’œil gauche?»
Le marchand a dit: «Oui! Oui! C’est mon chameau.»
Tenali Raman said, “Was it loaded with sugar on one side and rice on the other side?”
TranslateTenali Raman a dit: «Était-il chargé de sucre d’un côté et de riz de l’autre?»
The Merchant became very happy and said, “Yes, all your statements are correct. Did you see my camel?”
TranslateLe marchand est devenu très heureux et a dit: «Oui, toutes vos déclarations sont correctes. Avez-vous vu mon chameau?»
Tenali Raman said, “I did not see any camel. Only the right side of the bush is eaten. Similarly, there is a trail of sugar pieces on one side of the footprints and a trail of rice on the other side of the footprints. I think both bags must have small holes on them.”
TranslateTenali Raman a déclaré: «Je n’ai vu aucun chameau. Seul le côté droit du buisson est mangé. De même, il y a une traînée de morceaux de sucre d’un côté des empreintes de pas et une traînée de riz de l’autre côté des empreintes de pas. Je pense que les deux sacs doivent avoir de petits trous.»
The Merchant became very annoyed and said, “Then how do I find my camel? I already know all that you have said.”
TranslateLe marchand est devenu très ennuyé et a dit: «Alors, comment puis-je trouver mon chameau? Je sais déjà tout ce que vous avez dit.»
Tenali Raman smiled and said, “Just follow the footprints. You will find your camel soon.”
TranslateTenali Raman a souri et a dit: «Suivez simplement les traces de pas. Vous trouverez bientôt votre chameau.»
The merchant took his advice and followed the trail. Soon, he found his camel slowly limping along the road.
TranslateLe marchand a suivi son conseil et a suivi la piste. Bientôt, il trouva son chameau boitant lentement le long de la route.
