Aesop’s Fables -Le cerf malade

 

Once upon a time, there was a stag called Mr. Stag. Mr. Stag was sick and had fever. He was tired and wanted to rest. He wanted to have a long sleep.

Mr. Stag gathered some fruits , some vegetables and some sweet grass. He found a nice spot to rest under a tree. Mr. Stag wanted to eat and go to sleep.

Il était une fois un cerf qui s’appelé Monsieur Cerf. M. Cerf était malade et avait de la fièvre. Il était fatigué et voulait se reposer. Il voulait faire une longue sièste.

M.Cerf a ramassé des fruits, des légumes et de l’herbe douce. Il a trouvé un endroit agréable pour se reposer sous un arbre. M. Cerf voulait manger et s’endormir.

 

A bird saw Mr. Stag and came to say hello.

The Bird said, “Hello, Mr. Stag. You look unwell.”

Mr. Stag said, “Yes. I am unwell and wish to have some sleep. Thank you for asking.”

The Bird said, “Oh ok. Please take rest.”

Translate

Un oiseau a vu M. Stag et est venu lui dire bonjour.

L’Oiseau a dit: «Bonjour, M. Cerf. Vous avez l’air malade.

M.Cerf a dit: «Oui. Je ne me sens pas bien et je veux dormir un peu. Merci de demander.”

L’Oiseau a dit: «Oh ok. Vous vous reposez, s’il vous plaît. »

 

The bird saw the food and took a fruit and left.

More and more birds and animals heard that Mr. Stag was sick and came to check. Every one took one fruit or one vegetable or some grass when they left.

Translate

L’oiseau a vu la nourriture et a pris un fruit et il est parti.

De plus en plus d’oiseaux et d’animaux ont appris que M. Cerf était malade et sont venus vérifier. Chacun a pris un fruit, un légume ou une herbe en partant.

 

At the end,  Mr. Stag was sick and hungry and could not have a good sleep.

Mr. Stag said, “Most friends act as if they care. Only true friends show their friendship in their actions.”

Translate

A la fin, M. Cerf était malade et affamé et ne pouvait pas bien dormir.

M. Cerf a déclaré: «La plupart des amis agissent comme s’ils s’en souciaient. Seuls les vrais amis montrent leur amitié dans leurs actions.

 

Moral: “Good will is worth nothing unless it is accompanied by good acts.”

Translate

Morale: «La bonne volonté ne vaut rien si elle n’est pas accompagnée de bons actes.»
