The Wolf and the Goat – Y Blaidd a’r Afr

The Wolf and the Goat – Y Blaidd a’r Afr

Once upon a time, there was a goat who lived in the forest. The Goat could climb very well. He could climb rocks. He could climb hills. He could climb mountains. He could climb even tall cliffs.

One day the goat was on the top of the cliff and was having some grass.

Unwaith, roedd gafr yn byw yn y goedwig. Gallai’r Afr ddringo’n dda iawn. Gallai ddringo creigiau. Gallai ddringo bryniau. Gallai ddringo mynyddoedd. Gallai ddringo clogwyni tal hyd yn oed.

Un diwrnod roedd yr afr ar ben y clogwyn ac yn cael rhywfaint o laswellt.

A hungry wolf was searching for some food to eat when he saw the goat.

He thought, “The goat is on top of the cliff. I cannot climb the cliff and catch the goat. I must convince the goat to come down.”

Roedd blaidd llwglyd yn chwilio am ychydig o fwyd i’w fwyta pan welodd yr afr.

Meddyliodd, “Mae’r afr ar ben y clogwyn. Ni allaf ddringo’r clogwyn a dal yr afr. Rhaid i mi argyhoeddi’r afr i ddod i lawr. ”

He said to the goat, “Mr. Goat, why did you climb the cliff? It is not safe there. If you fall, you will get hurt. You should come down and eat the grass here. The grass here is sweeter than the grass in the cliff.”

The Goat replied, “I have two questions to you Mr. Wolf. How do you know the grass below is sweeter than the grass here? And why do you care if I fall? I know you well. You are thinking of your own appetite and not mine.”

Dywedodd wrth yr afr, “Mr. Gafr, pam wnaethoch chi ddringo’r clogwyn? Nid yw’n ddiogel yno. Os byddwch chi’n cwympo, byddwch chi’n cael eich brifo. Fe ddylech chi ddod i lawr a bwyta’r glaswellt yma. Mae’r glaswellt yma yn felysach na’r glaswellt ar y clogwyn. ”

Atebodd yr Afr, “Mae gen i ddau gwestiwn i chi Mr Blaidd. Sut ydych chi’n gwybod bod y glaswellt isod yn felysach na’r glaswellt yma? A pham ydych chi’n poeni os ydw i’n cwympo? Rwy’n eich adnabod chi’n dda. Rydych chi’n meddwl am eich chwant bwyd eich hun ac nid fy un i. ”

Moral: “An invitation prompted by selfishness is not to be accepted.”
