Akbar and Birbal – O bigode do rei
Once upon a time, King Akbar announced, “My dear courtiers, I have a problem for which I need a solution immediately.”
Everyone in the court looked at King Akbar.
TranslateEra uma vez, o Rei Akbar anunciou: “Os meus queridos cortesãos, tenho um problema para o qual preciso de uma solução imediatamente.
Todos na corte olharam para o rei Akbar.
King Akbar said, “Someone dared to pull my moustache yesterday. What is the punishment that I should give him?”
TranslateO rei Akbar disse: “Alguém se atreveu a puxar o meu bigode ontem. Qual é o castigo que devo-lhe? ”
Everyone in the court became very angry and started to shout.
One minister said, “He should be flogged with a whip!”
TranslateTodos na corte ficaram muito zangados e começaram a gritar.
Um ministro disse: “Ele deve ser açoitado com um chicote!”
The chief of the army said, “He should be hanged.”
Another minister said, “He should be jailed for life! What a fool!”
TranslateO chefe do exército disse: “Ele deveria ser enforcado.”
Outro ministro disse: “Ele deveria ser condenado à prisão perpétua! Que tolo!”
Similarly, all the ministers kept suggesting many punishments. Only Birbal was silent and smiling.
TranslateDa mesma forma, todos os ministros sugeriram muitas punições. Apenas Birbal estava em silêncio e sorrindo.
The King asked Birbal, “Why are you so quiet Birbal? And why are you smiling? What punishment should I award this person?”
TranslateO Rei perguntou a Birbal: “Por que você está tão quieto, Birbal? E por que você está sorrindo? Que punição devo conceder a essa pessoa? ”
Birbal said, “My dear King, I think you should give him a sweet and a big hug.”
TranslateBirbal disse: “O meu querido Rei, penso que você deveria dar-lhe um doce e um grande abraço”.
Akbar angrily said, “What are you saying Birbal? Have you gone mad? Are you saying that such a person should be rewarded?”
TranslateAkbar disse com raiva: “O que você está a dizer, Birbal? Ficou maluco? Você está a dizer que tal pessoa deveria ser recompensada? ”
Birbal replied politely, “I am not mad, my dear King! I can give you my explanation!”
Akbar said, “Then tell me why I should reward the person who pulls my moustache?”
TranslateBirbal respondeu educadamente: “Não estou louco, meu querido rei! Eu posso-lhe dar aminha explicação! ”
Akbar disse: “Então diga-me por que devo recompensar a pessoa que puxa o meu bigode?”
Birbal replied politely, “The only person who can dare to do this is your grandson. And I know that you love giving sweets to your grandson.”
TranslateBirbal respondeu educadamente: “A única pessoa que pode ousar fazer isso é o seu neto. E eu sei que adora dar doces para o seu neto. ”
The Emperor laughed very loudly and agreed. He was very happy with Birbal’s answer and gave his 100 gold coins as a reward.
TranslateO imperador riu muito alto e concordou. Ele ficou muito feliz com a resposta de Birbal e deu as suas 100 moedas de ouro como recompensa.
