Akbar and Birbal – Encurte a estrada
Once upon a time, King Akbar was on his way to another kingdom for a wedding. He was travelling by horse along with guards and his favourite courtier Birbal.
TranslateEra uma vez, o Rei Akbar estava a caminho de outro reino para um casamento. Ele estava a viajar a cavalo com guardas e o seu cortesão favorito, Birbal.
It was a very hot day and the road was very long. There were no trees providing shade. The king complained a lot about the road to Birbal and said, “Birbal. I wish this road will become shorter.”
TranslateEra um dia muito quente e a estrada era muito longa. Não havia árvores oferecendo sombra. O rei reclamou muito sobre a estrada para Birbal e disse: “Birbal. Eu desejo que está estrada se torne mais curta. ”
Birbal said, “My king, I can shorten this road. However there is one condition to it.”
Akbar said, “What is the condition?”
Birbal said, “You must answer my five riddles.”
TranslateBirbal disse: “O meu rei, posso encurtar esta estrada. No entanto, há uma condição para isso. ”
Akbar disse: “Qual é a condição?”
Birbal disse: “Você deve responder aos meus cinco enigmas”.
Birbal asked five riddles, one after another, to Akbar. The riddles were very complex and hard to solve. Akbar took his time and patiently solved all the five riddles.
TranslateBirbal perguntou cinco charadas, uma após a outra, para Akbar. Os enigmas eram muito complexos e difíceis de resolver. Akbar demorou e resolveu pacientemente todos os cinco enigmas.
After solving the fifth riddle, Akbar was very happy. He said, “Ha! There you go. I have solved the 5 very tough riddles which you have asked me. You have however not shortened the road.”
”Translate”
Birbal said, “But my King. I have shortened the road. You did not notice the heat when you were thinking about the riddles. We are at our destination already.”
TranslateBirbal disse: “Mas o meu rei. Eu encurtei o caminho. Você não percebeu o calor quando estava a pensar nas charadas. Já estamos no nosso destino. ”
Akbar was surprised. He was so distracted that he did not notice the heat or see how far they had travelled. He understood what Birbal was saying and agreed that Birbal did shorten the road.
TranslateAkbar ficou surpreso. Ele estava tão distraído que não percebeu o calor nem viu o quanto eles haviam viajado. Ele entendeu o que Birbal estava a dizer e concordou que Birbal encurtou a estrada.
