Akbar and Birbal – O pote

 

Once upon a time, King Akbar had an argument with his minister Birbal. King Akbar was so angry that he ordered Birbal to leave the kingdom and go away.

Era uma vez, o rei Akbar teve uma discussão com o seu ministro Birbal. O rei Akbar ficou tão zangado que ordenou que Birbal deixasse o reino e fosse embora.

 

King Akbar said, “Birbal. You have made me very angry. Leave my kingdom and go away immediately. If I find you in my kingdom tomorrow morning, you will be jailed.”

O rei Akbar disse: “Birbal. Deixou-me com muita raiva. Deixe o meu reino e vá embora imediatamente. Se eu te encontrar no meu reino amanhã de manhã, será preso. ”

 

Birbal was a very obedient minister. He apologised to the king and left the kingdom immediately. He went to a small village and changed his name. He started working in a small farm where he grew watermelons.

Birbal era um ministro muito obediente. Ele desculpou-se com o rei e deixou o reino imediatamente. Ele foi a uma pequena aldeia e mudou o seu nome. Ele começou a trabalhar  numa pequena fazenda onde cultivava melancias.

 

A few weeks passed and Akbar missed Birbal. Birbal was not only his minister but also one of his closest friends. Birbal was the only one who understood what Akbar wanted. He was fearless and always did what was right for the kingdom, sometimes even opposing the views of King Akbar.

Algumas semanas passaram-se e Akbar sentiu falta de Birbal. Birbal não era apenas o seu ministro, mas também um dos seus amigos mais próximos. Birbal foi o único que entendeu o que Akbar queria. Ele era destemido e sempre fazia o que era certo para o reino, às vezes até se opondo aos pontos de vista do Rei Akbar.

 

Akbar thought, “When Birbal was in his court, Birbal would never fail in providing a solution to any problem. I could always trust his judgement.”

Akbar pensou: “Quando Birbal estava no seu tribunal, Birbal nunca deixaria de fornecer uma solução para qualquer problema. Eu sempre poderia confiar no seu julgamento. ”

 

Akbar sent his soldiers to find Birbal but they unsuccessfully returned. Birbal was hiding well just as the king had ordered. No one knew where Birbal was.

Akbar enviou os seus soldados para encontrar Birbal, mas eles retornaram sem sucesso. Birbal estava se escondendo bem como o rei havia ordenado. Ninguém sabia onde Birbal estava.

 

Akbar made an announcement, “There is only one way in which I can bring him back. I will issue an order. Any man who brings to me, a pot full of “intelligence” shall become my advisor and minister. All his crimes shall be pardoned.”

Akbar fez um anúncio: “Só há uma maneira de trazê-lo de volta. Vou emitir um pedido. Qualquer homem que trouxer para mim um pote cheio de “inteligência” se tornará o meu conselheiro e ministro. Todos os seus crimes serão perdoados. ”

 

This message reached all the villages and even Birbal heard it. He knew that Akbar had forgiven him and wanted to bring him back. Birbal thought of a cunning plan.

Esta mensagem chegou a todas as aldeias e até Birbal a ouviu. Ele sabia que Akbar o havia perdoado e queria trazê-lo de volta. Birbal pensou num plano astuto.

 

He went to his farm and found a small watermelon which was still growing. He put it inside the steel pot and watered the plant well for an entire month. The watermelon grew large and stopped growing only when it completely fit the walls of the pot.

Ele foi até a sua fazenda e encontrou uma pequena melancia que ainda estava a crescer. Ele o colocou dentro da panela de aço e regou bem a planta por um mês inteiro. A melancia cresceu e parou de crescer somente quando coube completamente nas paredes da panela.

 

Birbal then sent the pot to Akbar saying, “Dear King, this is your pot of “intelligence”. Please remove the “intelligence” fully without breaking the pot.”

Translate

Birbal então enviou o pote para Akbar dizendo: “Querido Rei, este é o seu pote de“ inteligência ”. Por favor, remova a “inteligência” totalmente sem quebrar o pote. ”

 

Akbar realized that only one man could think of such a funny and intelligent answer. Akbar himself went to the village and brought back Birbal.

Akbar percebeu que apenas um homem poderia pensar numa resposta tão engraçada e inteligente. O próprio Akbar foi até a aldeia e trouxe Birbal de volta.
