Aesop’s Fables – Vargen och tranan
Once upon a time, there was a very wicked wolf. The wolf was eating a large fish. In its greed, it ate a large bone. The bone was very sharp and it got stuck in its throat. The wolf howled in pain.
TranslateDet var en gång en mycket ond varg. Vargen åt en stor fisk. I sin girighet åt den ett stort fiskben. Benet var väldigt vasst och fastnade i halsen. Vargen ylade av smärta.
“Oh the bone hurts so much. What should I do to get it out? Maybe I should cough?” he thought.
He tried to cough and get it out.
“Cough!! Cough!!” he loudly coughed. But the bone did not move and was still in his throat.
Translate”Åh det gör så ont. Vad ska jag göra för att få ut det? Kanske jag borde hosta? ” han tänkte.
Han försökte hosta och få ut det.
“Host!! Host!!” han hostade högt. Men benet rörde sig inte och satt kvar fortfarande i halsen.
“Oh the bone hurts so much. What should I do to get it out? Maybe I should drink water?” he thought.
He gulped down a lot of water.
“Gulp!! Gulp!!” he drank the water. But the bone did not move and was still in his throat.
Translate”Åh det gör så ont. Vad ska jag göra för att få ut det? Kanske jag borde dricka vatten? ” tänkte han.
Han slukade mycket vatten.
“Klunk!! Klunk!!” han drack vattnet. Men benet rörde sig inte och satt kvar fortfarande i halsen.
“Oh the bone hurts so much. What should I do to get it out? Maybe I should eat some more?” he thought.
He ate one more piece of fish.
“Crunch!! Crunch!!” he ate the fish. But the bone did not move and was still in his throat.
“Oh the bone hurts so much. What should I do to get it out? I need help” he thought.
Translate”Åh det gör så ont. Vad ska jag göra för att få ut det? Kanske jag borde äta lite mer? ” tänkte han.
Han åt en bit fisk till.
“Knaster!! Knaster!” han åt fisken. Men benet rörde sig inte och satt fortfarande kvar i halsen.
”Åh det gör så ont. Vad ska jag göra för att få ut det? Jag behöver hjälp ”tänkte han.
He walked around and saw a crane. He saw that the crane had a very long neck and a very long beak.
“If the crane puts its beak and head down my throat, it can take out the bone” thought the wolf. The wolf went to the crane and spoke to it.
“Mrs Crane. A piece of bone is stuck to my throat. Can you please help me out? I will reward you very well.”
TranslateHan gick runt och såg en trana. Han såg att tranan hade en mycket lång nacke och en mycket lång näbb.
”Om tranan sticker näbben ner i halsen på mig kan den ta ut benet” tänkte vargen. Vargen gick till tranan och pratade med den.
”Fru trana. En bit ben har fastnat i halsen. Kan du snälla hjälpa mig? Jag kommer att belöna dig mycket bra. ”
The crane knew the wolf was wicked but she was greedy. She thought to herself “But I want the reward so much. Maybe the wolf will give me so many fish that I don’t need to hunt ever again”
“Of course, Mr Wolf. I shall help you”, said the crane and reached down his throat and pulled the bone out. The wolf was very happy and thanked the crane.
“Thank you Mrs. Crane. I shall be leaving now”, he said walking away.
Translate”Tack fru trana. Jag ska gå nu ”, sa han och gick bort.
Tranan visste att vargen var ond men hon var girig. Hon tänkte på sig själv, ”Men jag vill så gärna ha belöningen. Kanske kommer vargen att ge mig så många fiskar att jag inte behöver jaga någonsin igen ”
”Naturligtvis, herr varg. Jag ska hjälpa dig ”, sa tranan och sträckte sig ner i halsen och drog ut benet. Vargen var mycket glad och tackade tranan.
“But you promised me a reward Mr Wolf”, said the greedy crane.
The wolf turned and growled at the crane.
“Reward? Did I not give you your reward already? I did not eat you when you put your head down my throat. Don’t you think that is a good reward?”
Saying so, the wolf walked away and the crane learnt a lesson.
Translate”Men du lovade mig en belöning herr varg”, sa den giriga tranan.
Vargen vände sig och morrade åt tranan
“Belöning? Har jag inte redan gett dig din belöning? Jag åt inte upp dig när du stack ner huvudet i halsen. Tycker du inte att det är en bra belöning? “
Med detta sagt gick vargen bort och tranan lärde sig en lektion.
Moral: Expect no reward for serving the wicked.
