Aesop’s Fables – Kråken och kannan
Once upon a time, it was summer and the land was very dry. A crow was very thirsty and flew around searching for water. Soon it found a small pitcher containing very little water.
The crow said, “CAW CAW. Look, a pitcher of water. I can finally have a drink”.
TranslateDet var en gång, sommar och landet och det var mycket torrt. En kråka var mycket törstig och flög runt och letade efter vatten. Snart hittade den en liten kanna som innehöll väldigt lite vatten.
Kråken sa, ”CAW CAW. Titta, en kanna vatten. Jag kan äntligen dricka ”.
He put his head down the pitcher. The crow could not reach the water. He felt more and more thirsty and did not know what to do.
“CAW CAW! The water is still too deep. What should I do?”
TranslateHan stoppade huvudet ner i kannan. Kråkan kunde inte nå vattnet. Han kände sig mer och mer törstig och visste inte vad han skulle göra.
“CAW CAW! Vattnet är fortfarande för långt ner . Vad ska jag göra?”
The crow looked around and found a mud patch having number of pebbles. Then he got a brilliant idea.
TranslateKråkan såg sig omkring och hittade en lerpöl med många små stenar. Sedan fick han en lysande idé.
He flew to the mud patch. FLAP! FLAP!
He picked up one pebble with his beak. He hopped over to the jug.

Han tog upp en sten med näbben. Han hoppade över till kannan.
HOP! HOP! HOP! And then he dropped the stone into the pitcher.
The water was still too deep.

Vattnet var fortfarande för djupt.
He flew to the mud patch. FLAP! FLAP!
He picked up the second pebble with his beak. He hopped over to the jug.

He did this many times. For each pebble, the water was rising slowly. Finally the water was high enough. The crow could reach the water and have its fill of water.

Moral: Little by little does the trick!
