Aesop’s Fables – Åsnan, Räven och Lejonet
Once upon a time, a Fox was good friends with an Ass. The Ass used to eat the grass in the farm. The Fox used to eat a chicken once in a while or steal some cheese.
TranslateEn gång i tiden var en räv som var goda vän med en åsna. Åsnan brukade äta gräset på gården. Räven brukade äta en kyckling en gång i taget eller stjäla lite ost.
One day they were walking around the forest when they came across a Lion. They both became very frightened.
The Donkey said, “My friend, the Lion will surely kill us. He is so scary!”
TranslateEn dag gick de runt i skogen när de mötte ett lejon. De blev båda mycket rädda.
Åsnan sa, ”Min vän, Lejonet kommer säkert att döda oss. Han är så läskig! ”
The Fox was very cunning. He decided that he will betray the Donkey and escape.
He said to the Donkey, “Don’t worry. I will talk to the Lion and trick him.”
TranslateRäven var väldigt listig. Han bestämde att han skulle förråda åsnan och fly.
Han sa till åsnan: ”Oroa dig inte. Jag ska prata med lejonet och lura honom. ”
The Fox walked up to the Lion boldly and said, “My great King, your highness, the great Lion. I have a very stupid friend. If you promise not to hurt me, I shall lead him to a deep pit so that he cannot escape. You can just go in and eat him easily.”
TranslateRäven gick djärvt fram till lejonet och sa, ”Min stora kung, ers höghet, den stora lejonet. Jag har en väldigt dum vän. Om du lovar att inte skada mig, ska jag leda honom till en djup grop så att han inte kan fly. Du kan bara gå in och äta honom lätt. ”
The Lion looked at him and agreed to the terms of the Fox.
The Fox went to the Donkey and said loudly, “He promised that he won’t hurt us since he has already finished his dinner. Let us hide before he wants to eat us!”
TranslateLejonet tittade på honom och gick med på rävens villkor.
Räven gick till åsnan och sa högt, ”Han lovade att han inte skulle skada oss eftersom han redan har avslutat sin middag. Låt oss gömma oss innan han vill äta upp oss! ”
The Donkey said, “You are such a good friend. I shall follow you.”
The lion was watching silently as the Fox took the Donkey into a deep ditch and came out. The Lion looked at him and pounced on top of his throat.
TranslateÅsnan sa, ”Du är en så bra vän. Jag ska följa dig. ”
Lejonet såg tyst på när räven tog åsnan till en djup ravin och kom ut. Lejonet tittade på honom och kastade sig över hans hals.
“You just betrayed your friend. How do I know that you won’t betray me as well?”
Translate”Du förrådde din vän. Hur vet jag att du inte kommer att förråda mig också? “
Moral: “Traitors may expect treachery.”
Translate“Förrädare kan förvänta sig förräderi.”
