The Bull and the Goat
Those who love Aesop’s Fables might know the story of the “The Bull and the Goat“. It is the story of a a bull who tries to hide in a cave because a lion is nearby and chases him. There was Goat who was eating in the cave and did not like the Bull entering the cave. what happens next shows how people behave in the real world when their opponents are down.
Story:
There was a Bull who lived in the forest. One day a Lion saw the Bull and started to chase him. The Bull had to run fast.
TROT! TROT! TROT!
TROT! TROT! TROT! TROT!
TROT! TROT! TROT! TROT! TROT!
The Bull found a cave in the forest. He got inside the cave before the lion saw him. The lion was outside searching for the bull.
There was Goat who was eating in the cave. The Goat did not like the Bull entering the cave. The goat lowered his horns and butted the Bull with its horns. The bull was in great pain, but he had to keep quiet since the lion was outside the cave. If he moved, his hooves would make a loud sound.
The Goat laughed and said, “You may be bigger than me, but I am stronger. Ha Ha. You won’t even fight back. You must be terrified of me.”
The Bull silently said, “Do not think that I am submitting to your insult because you are stronger. There is a lion outside. Once the Lion leaves, I will teach you a lesson with my horns.”
Moral of the story:
The moral of the story “The Bull and the Goat” is “It is wicked to take advantage of another’s distress.”
