The Crow and the Pitcher – カラスと水差し
Once upon a time, it was summer and the land was very dry. A crow was very thirsty and flew around searching for water. Soon it found a small pitcher containing very little water.
The crow said, “Look, a pitcher of water. I can finally have a drink”.
Translate昔々、夏で土地はとても乾燥していました。カラスはとてものどがかわいていて、水を探して飛び回っていました。その時、水が少し入った小さな水差しを見つけました。
カラスは言いました「みて、水が入った水差しだ。やっと水が飲めるよ。」
He put his head down the pitcher. The crow could not reach the water. He felt more and more thirsty and did not know what to do.
“The water is still too deep. What should I do?”
The crow looked around and found a mud patch having number of pebbles. Then he got a brilliant idea.

「水位がまだあんなに低いや。どうしよう？」
カラスは周りを見回して、泥にある数個の小石を見つけました。すると、カラスは素晴らしい名案を思いつきました。
He flew to the mud patch. FLAP! FLAP!
He picked up one pebble with his beak. He hopped over to the jug.
HOP! HOP! HOP! And then he dropped the stone into the pitcher.
The water was still too deep.

He did this many times. For each pebble, the water was rising slowly. Finally the water was high enough. The crow could reach the water and have its fill of water.
Translateカラスは何度も同じことをくりかえしました。小石を一つ入れるたび水は少しずつ上がってきました。とうとう水は十分高くなりました。カラスは水にたどりつき、水をたくさん飲みました。
